THE COSMIC FORECAST: AUGUST + SEPTEMBER 2019

LEO SEASON

Every month we get the cosmic lowdown from Michael Nourse, Wildform’s in-house astrologer. The start of Leo season (August 16, in the Vedic tradition) initiated major change after a start-and-stop period of inactivity that felt like the cosmic equivalent of crickets chirping. Ride the transition wisely.

The Sun enters Leo and immediately activates a full moon in Aquarius, which, in turn, pushes a high activity, innovation, and passion circuit. Sh*t is gonna change This also explains my filing this weather report so late. Please forgive me. But chances are you’re also so wildly busy and engaged in the churning life around us that you haven’t noted my absence.

Why would that be? For starters, Mars has been in a particularly destabilizing place for significant action across all sectors starting way back in April and hitting its high point of inertia in late June through early August. Admit it, not a lot of actions were easily going your way. And if they were, I assure you that you are either an anomaly (impressive!) or a situation denier (maybe look into that).

When Mars moved into Leo the first week of August, the action wheels of the world got fully moving again. When Venus joined Mars, things got moving with some passion. We may not know what we’re up to just yet, but we are definitely up to doing a whole lot of “something,” however each of us might define it.

“Admit it, not a lot of actions were easily going your way. And if they were, I assure you that you are either an anomaly (impressive!) or a situation denier (maybe look into that).”

When the Sun joined this combo—a bit later than usual—on August 16 / 17, the heat was on, sexual heat included. It also created an unusual phenomena where the waning Moon became slightly full again by the nature of the two luminaries once again aspecting each other from opposing constellations (Leo Sun and Aquarius Moon).

Aquarius Moon is based in innovation. It picks through the ashes of Phoenix fires for embers to reignite into renewed experiences. Expect some resurrections accordingly. Situations we thought were “done for” may well revive—if only to spark new directions and insights. BUT not all that shimmers is gold. Take careful stock of passions this season as some may simply be revived to test our resolve and/or lead us astray. Mars is only now shaking off his debilitated stupor, a lot of impulses and behaviors from late June through early August were “bone-headed plays” at best, though we may have embraced them with deep conviction. Don’t be too proud to question yourself in the new Leo light.

This Aquarius Moon is also a healer’s moon, meaning this Leo Sun month will also be restorative. Do understand that can require some detoxifying before regeneration fully begins. To that end, it is an excellent month for safe fasting, purging, and cleansing. And it’s important to note that physical purging is also emotional and mental purging. We can purge unwanted behaviors, belief systems, social groups or parasites, and even “bad for us” romances. Do I mean there’s a season for this? I do.

In the Northern Hemispheres, the end of summer sees landscapes drying out and preparing to shift to deliver last harvests and then hibernate. When the Sun is in Leo, our neurology is at one of its peak activation points. Information becomes easier to assimilate here. When Mars joins the Sun, there is a passionate journey in which we can change directions or stay the course with a renewed passion for the power of our choice. It becomes clearer at this time that, even with so many circumstances beyond our control, we do decide much of our life—for better or worse. This Leo cycle pays big tribute to that fact.

Soon enough, Mercury will join Venus, Mars, and the Sun to activate a brief renaissance in approaches to and appreciation for art, skill, strategy, and even genius. We may very much crave higher mind things again at this point—sophistication beyond luxury, essence past showmanship, refinement in all things.

At the same time, Saturn (the time keeper) snuggles closer to Ketu (the karma resolver). Expect some past bills to come due in startling ways and approach paying them with real gratitude, too. As my Satguru loves to say when undesirable situations occur, “Rejoice! The karma is now being burned and to never return!”

“Gratitude and courage are always the smart steps in recovering our true selves.”

Each of us will experience these events differently: a past flame, a career wound, a recurring illness, a veritable “ghost” now returned. Ask each what it wants us to learn, to forgive, to release, so that we can move onto higher callings on the clock. Gratitude and courage are always the smart steps in recovering our true selves. And all of this release heads towards some new world orders starting in November before cementing some real reset in January 2020.

You see, Jupiter is the high priest and lawyer in the sky. He is the overlord of evolution for species development on the planet, and his Sanskrit name is “Guru.” Jupiter has spent all of this year so far rewiring the Scorpio system. Scorpio governs consequence, our ability to allow life to be what life is, forgiveness of others, situations, and ourselves. It is the underbelly of choice and actions. And Jupiter makes exceptional use of his time here. With the Sun in Leo, Jupiter asks us to resolve any self-governance issues we might have regarding integrity, strategy, and personal motivation. It is not about judgment; it is about honest assessments that lead us towards what kind of human being we want to be in the world. Come November, many of those choices will be secured—for better or worse. Remember, evolution works three angles: species thriving, survival, and extinction. Please take careful stock; often those angles are not always clear.

The good news is that our brains are wired for higher selections right now. Pattern sort accordingly—and have some fun again, too.
